So this week has just been weird. We have been super busy. We move to the new apartment tomorrow and have been cleaning and packing like crazy. Along with teaching and trying to find people, it's a hard balancing act. We are still teaching Familia Sanchez. They're are just awesome. We taught them 3 times this week, but towards the end of the week they got really sick, so we couldn't visit them. However, they all came to church which was a huge miracle, except it was hard for them because the dad speaks fluent Spanish, the mom is pretty good at Spanish, and the kids don't understand a thing. Right now they are still trying to decide if an English or Spanish ward is better for them.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to see Alejandro dressed in white this week. Recently we have been having some problems with him (us being females and all), so the senior couple is going to take over from here. Wednesday he had passed his baptismal interview, but said he couldn't come to church on Sunday. Noooooooo! We went over Friday in hopes to talk to him and see what the concern was and what it came down to was that he doesn't feel ready and needs more "knowledge". He knows that the Book of Mormon is true. He knows that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He knows that this is the true church, however he just is not prepared. So until he receives the answer he is looking for we will be praying for the day when he can enter the waters of baptism.
We are moving to the new area tomorrow and I cannot be anymore excited. We aren't going to be fed during the weeks because there are hardly any members, but that's okay there's a lot more Hispanics down there. Transfers are next week and I am pretty sure Hermana Hernandez and I will be saying adios to each other. Speaking of Spanish, there are some days where I am feeling on top of the world with how well I can understand some people and other times I stand thinking to myself... huh? It's getting easier and more natural now so that's a blessing.
So we were tracting this week offering prayers, ya know that usual, and a Puerto Rican lady let us into her home. She tells us to wait while she goes and gets her son. This lady is trying to hook us up with her son. Hello, lady, we're just trying to say a pray with you... yeah most awkward thing of my life.
It sounds like every one is doing great and staying busy. I cannot believe how much time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was eating at the Geisha house and getting on the airplane. I remember thinking "what did I get myself into?" and now I am wondering "what was I doing before my mission?" I am so grateful everyday for the opportunity I have to wake and serve the Lord everyday.
I love you all!
Con amor,
Hermana Brooks
