Recently, I have had this weird obsession with the book of 3 Nephi in the Book of Mormon. First, well let me just say I love being a spanish speaking missionary and teaching people about "their people" in the ancient Americas and second, the story is just so beautiful. After Jesus Christ appeared to them after being resurrected the Nephites were able to go up ONE BY ONE and were able to touch the marks where the nails had been just days before. He had so much love for them as they did for Him as they were able to fall down at their Redeemer's feet. I can't wait for the day I can fall down at my Savior's feet and tell Him thank you. Thank Him for everything he has done for me.
My testimony of Heavenly Father knowing us individually was strengthened this week. As we found one of His lost sheep. Probably one of my favorite parables in the Bible right along with the Prodigal Son. We had this appointment super far away and the lady was flaky, so we weren't sure if we should still go or not, but we did and guess what? Yeah, she wasn't home, but the neighbor across the hall opens the door to leave for work and starts talking to us. I just thought he was a random nice guy wearing a Disney World employee uniform because most people here aren't that nice. Well come to find out he and his family are all members. They were baptized 5 years ago and are now inactive. It took Heavenly Father to make us go 20 miles out of our way to be stood up in order for this lost family to be found. We are going back next week and sharing a Christmas message with them. 'Tis the season. 🎅🎄
Speaking of this season, I have been getting the Christmas packages. I'm a gazillion states away, but still feeling the love thank you so much! I can't wait to see your faces in T-10 días. We can blame my chubbyness on the "camera" or on all the treats and empanadas I have been eating.......
Transfers are tomorrow and I am staying in the promised land of Windy Ridge, mexcept yet again I had to pack all my things because we are moving apartments. We are moving into an elders old apartment. HELP MEEEEE .....oh yeah I am also training a new sister........ I am super excited, super nervous and just happy. I am so happy.
WE ATE AT TEXAS ROADHOUSE!!! #happytummy
Hermana Rivera: "Am I bothering you when I sing?"
Me: "No, not at all. I'm too deep in thought about the new trainee coming in. I wonder what she will be like...."
Hermana Rivera: "probably white, just like you. you are all white here."
I'm gonna miss all her funnies.
hasta pronto,
Hermana Brooks
