So where do I begin? Holy smokes this week has been filled with the good,
the bad and the down right ugly. Along with every cool thing that could have
happened.
Let's start with the work.
First contact: rejected
Second contact: rejected
Every contact after that: rejected
Our area is super slow right now and we are doing so much
finding, or trying to at least. I am in a tri-companionship with Hna. Hess and
Hna. Hernandez, they are the bee's knees and we all get along pretty great.
There have already been a few hiccups, but other than that we get along pretty
well. They have both been sick with horrible things so we have done a lot of
staying in... not how I wanted to spend my first week, but I am never been one
for the norm.
Yes, I do get served black beans and rice with every
meal and I absolutely love it. Half the time I have no idea what is going on
over the dinner table because they speak so fast, but I somehow manage to say a
few words and jacked up sentences here and there. Since I am the "new"
missionary I guess I am obligated to say every public prayer that can be
possibly said. It's like an unsaid rule or something.
Within this week we have had Stake Conference, Zone Conference, District meeting, temple
tour, Halloween trunk o treat and some other random things so this week has been
CRAZY. Oh, I forgot to mention that Elder Walker, a Seventy came an spoke to us.
I had the privilege of listening to him for 3 days in a row. He also may or may
not have said "happy 7th day in the mission field, you're going to be a great
missionary", but that is beside the point.
I am in the Orlando Zone. My area is called Valencia North and I live in
Winter Springs. SANFORD IS IN MY MISSION!! Go Brooks' familia!
I have the cutest bike in all the land. Thank you so much dad and
Beckie. It's seriously perfect, except my skirt gets caught a gazillion times.
One day I will be a master bike rider. One day. Also, dad I hope the surgery
went well, you'll be in my prayers. "Saddle up the iron horse...." I was dying.
Thanks for that!
I don't have anymore time, but I love you all. I am writing in my journal
everyday so you all can hear the details of my life when I get home.
