One sec....... I'm still trying to pick my jaw up from off the floor.
I'm back in the promise land of Windy a Ridge and it's even better
than the first time around!! They took the elders out of the ward and
so now our area is so grande. See pics to come. But seriously we have
so many investigators I haven't even met them all and crazy thing is
we added 4 more this week... I think we have 20 right now. Basically I
go home every night with my head about to explode. There seriously is
nothing better than teaching. I may not be completely fluent in
Spanish and sometimes things don't come out exactly the way I want
them to, but seriously I go home every night just so grateful to be a
missionary and for the message we carry. I also get so excited about
hearing your own missionary moments from back home, it makes me happy.
*****Cool random miracle***** a ton of asterisks because it's that
cool. So when I was in Kissimmee with Hermanita Jackson we were
tracting, and I hate tracting, but after this experience I am a little
more hopeful. So let me just take you back to those sweat filled, bike
riding, bugs on my face days. Remember those? Some of my greatest
mission memories, well anyways, we were tracting one hot hot day and
randomly knock into this young boy about our age and share a little
message about the restoration and walked away thinking nothing of it,
but he was kinda interested so we gave his info to the other sista
missionaries in the ward. Fast forward 4 months and I receive a
message on facebook from this young man and he was telling me about
mutual and all these things..... Then tells me how grateful he was for
us for talking to him that day. Since then he and his brother were
baptized and he is receiving the priesthood I think this week. Also,
he is preparing to serve a mission as soon as he can.
Let's see. Oh yeah! My new companera is a hoot! Her name is Hermana
Rivera Ruiz. Hey family, you should have thought it clearer.... Why
don't I have two last names? She is a little (and I mean little)
native from Mexico, except she hates Hispanic food and loves American
food. I'm still confused myself about that. She lived in Fort Myers
for a while so her English is as good as my spanish, probably even
better. She makes me laugh. ALL THE TIME. She is a super hard worker,
which is a blessing. I'm hoping we stay together for awhile. I just
want to pack her up and send her home to you guys, she's just the
sweetest.
PLEASE DON'T SEND ME ANYTHING FOR CHRISTMAS UNLESS IT'S EDIBLE. My suitcases are too full for anything else.... haha
Recently they created a new stake here and unfortunately a part of our
ward got cut off from us :( but it has been such a blessing to see the
hand of revelation in these things. Elder Munns and Elder Clark came
and never before have I had such a strong testimony for leaders of the
church, especially those who have a calling to hasten the work. At the
end of the stake conference Elder Clark bore testimony of our Savior
Jesus Christ and anyone looking at that man would be able to not only
see, but feel, the love of Christ. I hope everyone knows how much I
love Jesus Christ. I can't wait for the day to meet Him again. Until
then, I am doing the best I can with what God has given to me.
Well until next week... I'll just keep daydreaming about Harry Potter
world 2 miles away.
Sincerely your favorite muggle,
Hermana Brooks
