Let me tell you about this one time where there was a "snow day" in
Florida. Ok, not really, but Floridians are crazy! We were eating
dinner with this one family this week and they were explaining to us
that the kids didn't have seminary on Friday! Why? Because the
temperatures randomly dropped to the 40's and so the teachers
cancelled seminary so the kids wouldn't freeze. Yes... That really
happened. #floridaprobs
Got my travel plans this week. That was weird. I get home at lunch
time. Do you know what that means? IN-N-OUT IN-N-OUT IN-N-OUT!!!!!
We have been picking up some really cool gators and continuing to
teach Carlos. MARIA and Hector left to the DR for a bit, so nothing
new with her, but man, happiest moment of this transfer this week
happened. We have been meeting with Carlos a lot and he had mentioned
to us that he wants to get baptized in April because he doesn't feel
ready and so we invited him to pray about his original date and his
idea and wait for a response. It took about a week, but his response
came and in an unusual than we expected. We got a text Sunday night
saying that he had a surprise for us and that he would call us
tomorrow. Well, if you know me I can't wait that long, so I straight
up asked him if he is going to be baptized? He said, and I quote in
his broken up English, "yes you can tell every bady March 8 Hermana
!!!!" WAIT, WHAT?! Turns out he went to another single adult
conference and felt the spirit so strongly and felt that he needs to
get baptized as soon as possible. So there's that with the coolest
Brazilian I've ever met. Also, he is throwing me a goodbye party next
weekend..... ;( as he told us he said, "Hermana Brooks I will remember
you for the eternities." Can't wait for the day when I see all these
people in the next life.
The reason for this wacky Tuesday writing is because we had Elder
Zwick of the Seventy come to our mission and talk with us yesterday.
Mostly about internet proselyting. I am super excited that I had the
opportunity to use facebook as part of my mission because now I get to
go home and continue to #sharegoodness online, but this time in my
native tongue. Wooo!
Yeah, it still feels like I am going to be here for forever.........
Because I am :)
Love you guys!
