Transfer calls came and guess what?! I'M STAYING!! We are still in shock right now since I have been here 3 transfers already and my poor companion has been here only 6 weeks. We say it's because I have yet to find the person I am supposed to find. I'm gonna find him/her...
Why is it that when you get along super well with your companion you spend the least amount of time with them? Hermana Campos is da bomb! She never taught me how to make legit Mexican food like I wanted, but I learned a lot from her, more important things like how to become a better missionary.
Fastest 6 weeks of my life--- best 6 weeks of my mission thus far. It had the greatest ending too... MARIANA GOT BAPTIZED. We were a little worried because things kept on coming up durante the week, but she knew what she wanted and wouldn't stop till she was baptized, which
was a blessing on our part. Going into it I thought it was going to be oh so perfect, but no. The water was freezing (yeah, she did not like that) and the whole being submerged part was a fail, but all that matters is that she is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Woo!
I am excited to meet my new companion though... And guess what? There aren't any more natives for me to be with anymore :( sad day. We have 1 solid investigator right now and 1 super sweet potential we met. We knocked on her door and she was like "Ah misioneras?!" Wait, what? Our first reaction was to assume she was a member or something, but
that wasn't the case. Turns out she has family in New Jersey who are all members and she wants to come to church with us and get taught... Yes, this is real life. Missionary life is sooooo good. I am loving every second of it. Remember how the area split and we got half of the Elder's area, well that's how we got our gator Raul. They Elders taught him, but he left to Guatemala for a while, but now he is back and we are teaching him. His daughter's family, who he lives with, are all members and we have been working with them a lot. He is having a problem with the Restoration and proper authority so this week we are going to focus on that.
Random shoutouts to both sets of parents of mine! You are the best!! I loved the pairs of shoes and the waterproof bag (much needed)! I was worried I was going to be getting transferred this week, which would have been a problem because I would have had no room for all my shoes... The struggle is real.
A dear friend sent me a quote this week that I want to share with you all from Marvin J. Ashton...
"Do not allow yourself to be made to feel in adequate or frustrated because you can't not do everything others seem to be accomplishing. Only you and your Father in Heaven know your needs strengths and desires. Around this knowledge your personal course must be charted
and all your choices made."
Les amo mucho!
Con amor,
Hermana Brooks
